Azamat Karamatov Appointed as CEO of IT Park Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Azamat Karamatov has been appointed as the new CEO of IT Park Uzbekistan, succeeding Abdulakhad Kuchkarov.
In his role, Karamatov will oversee the development of the country’s IT sector, including support for the startup ecosystem and venture market, engagement with IT Park residents, and expansion of IT services and technology exports. He will also focus on attracting international tech companies, enhancing IT Park’s operational efficiency, and advancing digital economy projects.
Karamatov holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Tashkent University of Information Technologies (2007–2013) and completed further studies at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Uzbekistan (2016–2018). His professional career spans senior roles in the Ministry of Digital Technologies and the private sector, gaining experience in IT infrastructure development, regulatory improvements, innovation projects, startup support, and investment attraction.
Prior to his appointment, he led IT Park Ventures, building one of the region’s largest startup portfolios, establishing joint venture funds with international partners, and launching programs to develop IT talent and promote startups in global markets.
The management team of IT Park Uzbekistan has also been renewed. Jahongir Ikhtiyorov Rajabov was appointed First Deputy CEO, Lazizbek Ibrokhimovich Khudaev as Director of Resident Services, and Makhliokhon Azizjon Kizi Muksinova as Director of Strategic Development. Dilafruz Abdulla Kizi Miralimova will head inclusive development, while Azam Abdushukurovich Abdullaev will oversee regional development.
The revamped leadership team is expected to drive IT Park Uzbekistan’s expansion, strengthen the startup ecosystem, boost IT exports, and solidify Uzbekistan’s position in the global technology market.
