Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Russian car manufacturer AvtoVAZ is planning a return to the Uzbek and Kazakh markets, focusing on its popular Lada Granta model. This was announced by the company’s CEO, Maksim Sokolov, in an interview with TASS.

According to Sokolov, the Lada Granta continues to enjoy stable demand abroad, particularly in Belarus, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan. “We aim to restore sales volumes in Uzbekistan to the 2022 level,” he emphasized.

Alongside the relaunch of Lada Granta exports, AvtoVAZ also plans to introduce a new model — the Lada Iskra. “We will gradually ramp up production of the Lada Iskra depending on market demand, and over time, we intend to phase out certain Granta modifications,” the CEO noted.

It is worth mentioning that in 2021, the Lada brand ranked fourth in terms of sales volume in Uzbekistan’s automotive market.
