AU launches three new departments in a Business School and appoints the School Dean

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Odiljon Abdurazzakov joined AKFA University (AU) in the capacity of the Dean of the Business School. One of the main tasks of the new Dean will be the development of educational programs on business direction.

Doctor Odiljon Abdurazzakov has extensive experience in the education sphere. Namely, He is a graduate of Colorado University (USA) and obtained his Ph.D. degree from Harvard University.

He worked as a lecturer and professor in various universities in Azerbaijan and Germany. He also worked in large companies and state bodies.

“I am glad to join the AKFA University team, and I am ready to contribute to the development of the higher education sphere in Uzbekistan. In the capacity of the Dean, one of my main tasks will be the development of educational programs in such directions as entrepreneurship, finance, digital marketing, development of startups, etc. Our main goal will be to transform the Business School of AKFA University into a leading educational institution in the business direction in Uzbekistan and the world,” Odiljon Abdurazzakov said.

At the same time, AKFA University announces the launch of three new departments in Business School. From 1 June 2021, the applicants can submit their applications to the departments of digital marketing, international business and consulting, as well as entrepreneurship and innovation management.

The duration of the studies is four years. Tuition fee for one academic year set at 25 million uzbek soums. Applicants, who pass entrance exams in mathematics, will be accepted to new departments. Applicants also should submit IELTS 5.0 or equivalency of TOEFL or Duolingo English Test certificates.

Odiljon Abdurazzakov noted that the decision to open these departments was made considering the high demand for specialists in these areas. Students will receive both theoretical and practical skills during the training, which will allow them to become good specialists. As part of the training, students will analyze various cases, take part in educational games, and advise representatives of local businesses. Students will also work with mentors representing successful companies around the world.

“Faculty team of new departments will consist of foreign specialists and our compatriots, who have extensive experience in teaching. In addition, one of the important criteria in selecting professors will be their participation in research,” he said.

AKFA University also plans to launch the AKFA University Innovation Lab startup accelerator soon within the School of Business and conduct business case competitions to develop students’ skills.
