AU and NILE to organize professional development programs for faculty members

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- AU and Norwich Institute for Language Education (NILE, UK) will partner to improve the teaching of English language in Uzbekistan.

AU School of Arts and Humanities (SAH) and NILE signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen and develop academic ties, and cooperation in the field of training and re-training of AU faculty members.

The document will be providing professional development programs to the faculty members of the SAH English Department Faculty in various areas of English teaching and learning.

In particular, the English Department faculty will have an opportunity to attend both online and face-to-face certificate programs to enhance their teaching skills and expand their knowledge in the field of Language Teaching.

Dean of AU School of Arts and Humanities Munisa Muhtarova commented: “Uzbekistan pays great attention to the development of the education sector, including teaching the English language. Our partnership with NILE will help to contribute to this cause via enhancing the teaching skills of the Language Instructors who are at the starting point of their teaching careers.”

NILE is one of the world’s biggest providers of training and development for English language teaching. Since 1995, the institute has trained over 50,000 teachers from over 60 different countries, ranging from short specialist courses to Cambridge CELTA and Delta and a modular MA specially designed for ELT teachers and trainers.
