Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The fight against illicit drug trafficking and abuse is a hot topic today, since drug trafficking is becoming one of the most serious threats to the security of states, has a devastating effect on the development of the world community, stimulates growth crime, corruption, violence, the press service of the State Customs Committee reported.

Recently, the employees of the Sariasiya railway customs post of the Surkhandarya regional customs administration, in cooperation with the State Security Service and the Border Troops, revealed the facts of attempts to illegally smuggle drugs across the territory of our republic in large quantities.

At the customs post, a customs control was carried out in relation to a freight train arriving from a neighboring state and passing through Uzbekistan, using an inspection complex. As a result, suspicious scanned images of one of the cars attracted the attention of customs officials.

After that, in the course of careful customs control with the help of service dogs, it turned out that special hiding places were equipped at the bottom of the car with the help of metal sheets.

As a result of opening and examining the hiding places, it was established that there were hidden 23 units of 5 liter plastic containers, wrapped in black colors and wrapped with tape.

Upon opening in 4 containers, 11 kg 987 g of heroin, 2 kg 592 g of hashish, and 81 kg 348 g of was found were found.

After that, in the course of continued operational actions, the customs officers of the regional customs administration, in cooperation with representatives of other law enforcement agencies, at the Derbend railway station in Baysun district, carried out additional customs control of the train cars. As a result, a cache was found at the bottom of another carriage, equipped with exactly the same metal sheets. In which, during the autopsy, 5 liter containers were also found in the amount of 21 units, wrapped in black polyethylene and also wrapped in tape.

When the containers were opened, it was found that they contained the hashish drug with a total weight of 30 kg 648 g. and hash oil in a total amount of 45 kg. 906 g.

As a result of the operational measures carried out, the illegal transportation of a total of 172.5 kilograms of narcotic drugs was prevented in a timely manner.

At present, a criminal case has been opened on the revealed fact of the crime.
