Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An attempt to illegally import gold bars has been suppressed in Andijan region. This was reported by the press service of the State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan.

In particular, the nervous behavior of two citizens who arrived from a neighboring state through the border customs post “Dustlik” of the State Customs Committee for the Andijan region, attracted the attention of customs officers.

As a result, during the examination of the luggage of citizens, among the things were found hidden from customs control and not declared during oral questioning to customs officers, gold bars weighing 5 grams each, with a total weight of 1.1 kg, sealed in individual packages.

According to preliminary estimates, the total value of the discovered gold bars was 880 million soums.

Currently, on the revealed fact of the offense, customs inspections are underway.
