At least 40% of energy for social objects and businesses in Uzbekistan to come from renewable sources
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In 2025, Uzbekistan plans to ensure that at least 40% of the electricity consumed by households, small businesses, and social institutions is supplied through renewable energy sources. This was announced by Deputy General Prosecutor Shokhrukh Aminov in an interview with the "Uzbekistan 24" TV channel.
Aminov noted that to achieve this goal, solar panels and water heaters will be installed at these facilities, which will help reduce production costs. The Deputy Prosecutor General emphasized that this task would be accomplished without fail, adding that last year, the General Prosecutor’s Office and its regional divisions had already gained significant experience in carrying out such directives.
It is worth recalling that in December, raids were conducted in Tashkent to prevent the irrational use of electricity. During these inspections, prosecutors issued administrative protocols against entrepreneurs and warned them about possible fines and disconnections from the power grid.
Building on this experience, strict prosecutorial control will be established to ensure compliance with presidential directives. Shokhrukh Aminov also mentioned that the president criticized the company "Khududgaztaminot" for its violations in providing liquefied gas to the population. As a result, the General Prosecutor’s Office has been tasked with preparing proposals to eradicate corruption in this area.
The Deputy Prosecutor General added that the Prosecutor’s Office, together with "Khududgaztaminot" and "Uzenergoinspektsiya," will develop and present its proposals to improve the situation in this sector.
