Association of garlic producers and exporters established

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Association of Producers and Exporters of Garlic and Vegetable Products by the “tuksonbosti” method and its territorial divisions in the form of limited liability companies have been established in Uzbekistan.

The Association was established in accordance with the resolution of the President of Uzbekistan “On measures to increase the production and export of garlic and vegetable products by the “tuksonbosti” method.

The document notes that territorial societies are the founders of the Association.

An Association of Garlic Producers and Exporters has been established in Bulakbashi District of Andijan region; on 400 hectares of area, garlic production has been organized by the cluster method by securing households.

The Association is entrusted with such tasks as providing agronomic recommendations, assisting in the export of products to the most suitable states and convenient times, and improving the qualifications of product manufacturers.

The sources of financing for the activities of the Association are membership fees, the Fund for the Support of Farms, Dekhkan Farms and Owners of Household Lands, state grants allocated for scientific research, as well as grants from international financial institutions (IFIs).

The resolution established that the production of August onions, garlic, and vegetable products by the "tuksonbosti" method is financed by the State Fund for the Promotion of Employment, the Fund for Support of Farmers, Dekhkan Farms and Owners of Home Lands, IFIs allocated under the Every Family is an Entrepreneur program.

The Association, together with the Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan and regional khokimiyats, presents to commercial banks projects for the production of cluster and cooperative methods of August onions, garlic, as well as vegetable crops using the "tuksonbosti" method, implemented at the expense of IFI funds.

The Ministry of Agriculture was instructed to ensure the allocation of 7 billion soums from the Fund for Support of Farmers, Dekhkan Farms and Owners of Home Lands, as well as the Fund for the Development of Horticulture and Greenhouse Economy for the implementation of a project for the production of garlic as a loan in the amount of 50% of the main rate of the Central Bank for 1 year on the basis of the guarantee of the khokimiyat of Bulakbashi district and the Association in equal shares.
