Asl Oyna to implement projects for US$180 million
The Government of Uzbekistan issued a resolution “On measures to further develop production of glass products to expand manufacture of food products”.
The document said that Asl Oyna implemented investment projects for production of glassware with an annual capacity of 200 million conventional units.
The company’s shareholders decided to implement additional investment projects with a total estimated cost of US$ 178 million. The projects will be implemented until 2021.
In particular, the company will implement projects to expand production of glassware from 200 million to 600 million conventional units a year through construction and commissioning of the 3rd, 4th and 5th glass melting furnaces and a plant for enrichment of raw materials for glass production, with introduction of advanced technological equipment with the cost of US$130 million.
The National Bank for foreign economic affairs of Uzbekistan will invest US$30 million to these projects through contributions to the authorized fund of Asl Oyna. Within the framework of the project, loan of the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan for US$100 million will be attracted.
Asl Oyna also intends to build a plant for production of soft drinks worth US$5 million with a capacity of 10 million liters of beverages a year.
The enterprise also plans to create facilities for production of beer and alcoholic beverages. About US$10 million will be directed to construction of beer plant with the capacity of 10,000 tonnes and US$6 million to the alcoholic beverages plant with the capacity of 600 million decaliters.
The company til 2021 will implement a project “Construction of a plant for production of canned fruits and vegetables in Tashkent and branches in the regions of the republic” worth US$13 million. After the launch, the enterprise will produce 12,000 tonnes of canned fruits and vegetables.
About $ 4 million of investments will be directed to organization of production of metal lids ‘Twist Off’ and US$10 million – to organization of production of stickers for identification of goods. The capacity of the first plant will be 16.6 million lids a year and the second - from 10 to 100 million units of stickers a day.
