Asia Alliance Bank Seeks to Recover Over US$6 Million from Humans
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Asia Alliance Bank has initiated legal proceedings to recover debts from Humans companies totaling over 65 billion soums, the bank’s press service reported.
Recently, dozens of anonymous Telegram channels circulated identical posts alleging that Humans owed various organizations. These claims suggested the company’s debt amounted to US$13.3 million to Yandex, 533 billion soums to Octobank, and US$3.9 million to Asia Alliance Bank.
Asia Alliance Bank confirmed that the Humans group, including LLC “Humans” and JSC “Humans Companies,” does indeed have obligations to the bank. Due to repeated breaches of contract terms and non-fulfillment of obligations, the bank was forced to initiate debt recovery procedures.
“In the course of legal proceedings, Asia Alliance Bank filed claims to recover debts totaling over 65 billion soums,” the statement said.
The bank also expressed readiness for constructive dialogue and to provide clarifications on its position.
Earlier, on May 8, the Tashkent Economic Court upheld a claim by Uzbektelecom to recover over 520 billion soums from Humans.
In June, the Tashkent Interdistrict Economic Court ordered the company to settle its debt to Octobank (the exact amount was not disclosed). Initially, Octobank sought to recover more than 500 billion soums in debt and damages. In response, Humans filed a counterclaim seeking the return of 403.7 billion soums of “unjust enrichment” that the company alleges the bank received from the payment organization Maroqand.
