Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The implementation of the Zamin Foundation’s project "Water supply, sanitation and hygiene in secondary schools in Bukhara region" continues. Another 5 schools and their surrounding areas received access to safe drinking water.
In schools No. 6, 32, 34 of Peshku district and No. 20, 21 of Jondor district, water supply systems from wells, water filtration and desalination to the level of safe drinking water were installed. Internal and external engineering networks of water supply and sewerage, toilets and showers were constructed.
Thanks to the established on-site biological treatment system, wastewater in schools will be treated to a level suitable for irrigation without contaminating the soil and surface water.
The project partners are Uzsuvtaminot and the Ministry of Public Education.
