As a result of the Business mission "Made in Uzbekistan" in Kazan, more than 20 agreements were signed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The two-day business mission "Made in Uzbekistan" held in Kazan in early December was widely covered in a number of news agencies of Tatarstan, as well as on the web pages of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of this entity. Russian Federation, Dunyo news agency reported.

It is reported that the Made in Uzbekistan exhibition area was filled with more than 80 manufacturers of Uzbekistan, which produce products of the textile, leather and light industries. In total, more than 120 companies from different regions of Russia and neighboring countries took part in the current exhibition, which took place at the site of the Kazanskaya Yarmarka exhibition center.

As noted, during the grand opening of the "Made in Uzbekistan" business mission, First Deputy Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov addressed the participants with a welcoming speech through electronic communication channels.

The exhibition was opened by the Ambassador of Uzbekistan Botirjon Asadov and Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Albert Karimov.

Shamil Ageev, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tatarstan, also took part in the opening of "Made in Uzbekistan".

Within the framework of the business program of the business mission, more than 20 events were held in two days - panel discussions and round tables, presentations on the export potential of Uzbekistan and wide opportunities for investment projects, meetings of Uzbek manufacturers with Russian entrepreneurs.

The business mission was attended by representatives of over 100 export-oriented companies. Among them are manufacturers of agricultural products, furs, footwear, denim and knitwear, household appliances and electronics, equipment for transformer substations, as well as wine companies. The share of exports in Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover is increasing every year. In 2019, exports reached over US$13 million, with a growth rate of 45.5%.

As a result of business meetings between representatives of business communities, more than 250 negotiations were held and more than 20 agreements of intent were signed. Over two days, the business mission was attended by over 2.5 thousand guests.

The goals of the Made in Uzbekistan project are to demonstrate the products of Uzbek enterprises, increase the country’s export potential and build long-term cooperation with foreign countries. Over the two years of its existence, business missions have been organized to India, Belarus, Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Turkmenistan. The project is presented for the first time in Russia. Within its framework, the "Green Week" has already taken place in Samara, further events are planned in Moscow and St. Petersburg. The organizer of Made in Uzbekistan was the Export Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The event was held with the joint support of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the CCI of Tatarstan.

It is noted that the event was organized within the framework of agreements following the results of the Uzbek-Tatar business forum, organized during the visit of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov to Uzbekistan in September this year.
