Around 21,000 Controlled Substances Seized in Fergana Region During Special Operations
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Law enforcement authorities in Fergana region have seized approximately 21,000 doses of controlled pharmaceuticals during a coordinated operation. The operation was conducted jointly by the State Security Service, Border Troops, the Fergana Regional Administration, the Department for Combating Economic Crimes, and customs authorities.
In Kokand, a Spark vehicle driven by a local resident born in 1983 was stopped. Authorities discovered and confiscated 9,960 tablets of the controlled substance “Zardex,” which have been secured as evidence.
In a separate case involving smuggling from a neighboring country and delivery to criminal partners in Tashkent, a Cobalt vehicle driven by a 1996-born resident of Kuvasay was stopped at a traffic post in Pop district, Namangan region. Inspection revealed 8,000 tablets of “Zardex” and 309 grams of hashish concealed inside the car’s door panels.
Additionally, in Baghdad district, a Nexia belonging to a Kokand resident born in 1992 was found to contain 1,691 tablets of “Regapen.” Another incident in Fergana district involved a local resident born in 2001 being detained for selling 1,274 tablets of “Regapen” to an accomplice born in 1991 for 56 million soums.
Criminal cases have been initiated against all offenders under Articles 251¹, 246, and 273 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan. The suspects have been placed under arrest, and investigative actions are ongoing.
