Apostolic Nuncio of Holy See visits Uzbek religious committee

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Chairperson of the Committee on religious affairs of Uzbekistan held a meeting with the Apostolic Nuncio of Holy See (Vatican) with residence in Moscow Ivan Jurkovič, the press service of the Uzbek committee said.

At the meeting, the sides exchanged opinion on cooperation of the Catholic Church with other religious organizations in Uzbekistan on strengthening inter-religious and inter-national accord.

Ivan Jurkovič expressed gratitude to the Government of Uzbekistan for its attention to the Catholic Church in the country and Catholics. He highly rated work of the government on deepening inter-religious dialogue and international accord.

Jurkovič said that he was happy to hear that Catholic Church and other religious organizations are cooperating in this area.

Apostolic Nuncio was also informed about work in the relegious sphere in Uzbekistan, religious events, etc.
