Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Termez regional railway junction of Uzbekistan Temir Yollari received a modern and powerful cargo and passenger locomotive delivered from China.
Its acquisition was carried out within the framework of the project "Renewal of the fleet of locomotives through the acquisition of locomotives" with the participation of the Asian Development Bank.
It should be noted that the railway lines subordinated to the UE "Termez Regional Railway Junction" run on the territory with a difficult mountainous terrain, where it is difficult to imagine rail transportation without the help of such tractors.
Electric locomotives manufactured by the Chinese state-owned holding company CRRC Group (editor’s note China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation - China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation) have already proven to be very powerful. It belongs to a series of two-section 8-axle passenger-and-freight electric locomotive with a power of 9,600 kW.
Due to its power, the locomotive is able to easily start with a heavy freight train in all weather conditions. According to the technical specifications, the locomotive can reach speeds of up to 120 km/h. The service life of each locomotive is 40 years.
The TSMS electrodiagnostic system, developed by the TOSHIBA electrodiagnostic company, is equipped with a modern control and diagnostic system that protects against overloads, malfunctions and informs the locomotive driver about this. In general, the driver is automatically informed about the state of the electronic equipment of the electric locomotive and other systems. If a hardware malfunction is detected along the way, a corresponding message is displayed on the on-board computer monitor and ways to eliminate it are also indicated here.
