Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 24 December, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan signed a decree establishing additional non-working days and shifting the holiday schedule for the New Year celebrations.

According to the document:

For employees working a five-day week, the weekend on 4 January 2025 (Saturday) will be moved to 2 January (Thursday).

For employees working a six-day week, 2 January (Thursday) will be an additional non-working day.

As a result, employees with a five-day week will enjoy six consecutive days of holiday, while those with a six-day workweek will have five consecutive days off.

The revised schedule is as follows:

28 December (Saturday) will be a day off for employees with a five-day workweek (for employees with a six-day workweek, it will be a working day).

29 December (Sunday) will be a common day off.

30 December (Monday) will be an additional day off.

31 December (Tuesday) will be a public holiday.

1 January (Wednesday) will be a public holiday.

2 January (Thursday) will be a day off for employees with a five-day workweek and an additional day off for employees with a six-day workweek.
