Animal Cruelty Case Opened in Tashkent Region
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Authorities in the Bostanlyk district of Tashkent region are investigating an incident of animal cruelty, videos of which have circulated widely on social media.
The footage shows a man kicking a cat, attempting to crush it, and causing harm. Later, another man appears indoors with a firearm, also mistreating two cats and firing several shots. In some frames, one of the animals is seen hanging from a rope and shows no signs of life.
According to the Main Directorate of Internal Affairs of Tashkent region, the incident occurred in December 2025 at a hotel in the Yangikurgan mahalla of Bostanlyk district. No prior complaints had been filed. The individual captured in the video, identified as Sh. M., born in 1993, has been officially registered in a legal case, and the materials have been submitted to court for consideration.
The press service of the Department of Public Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs clarified that the incident took place on December 27, 2025. The involved individuals—Sh. M. and A. A., born in 1996, both employed in the recreation area—have been charged administratively under Articles 111 (animal cruelty) and 220−1 (illegal firearm possession) of the Administrative Code.
The firearm belonged to A. A., who did not have authorization for its storage or use. Authorities emphasized that the case will be reviewed in accordance with the law to ensure those responsible are held accountable.
