Andijan Region, Afghanistan Expand Trade Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The delegation of Uzbekistan’s Andijan region, led by governor Shukhratbek Abdurakhmonov, continues its working visit to Afghanistan, holding a series of meetings aimed at expanding bilateral trade and economic cooperation.

As part of the visit, talks were held with Afghanistan’s Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, Mawlawi Ataullah Omari.

The sides discussed prospects for cooperation in agriculture, the food industry, and construction materials production. Special attention was given to expanding mutual trade, increasing export supplies, and accessing new markets.

During the negotiations, the participants considered opportunities to promote products from Andijan region in the Afghan market, including poultry meat, chicks, and eggs.

The sides also exchanged views on supplies of meat products from Afghanistan and the development of efficient logistics chains required for sustainable trade turnover.

Following the meeting, both sides confirmed their intention to consistently expand cooperation and implement practical projects aimed at strengthening economic ties between regions.

In Kabul, an exhibition of products from Andijan region was also organized. The display featured more than 150 types of goods, including agricultural products, food industry items, construction materials, household goods, and home appliances.

The event aimed to promote regional producers in new export markets, enhance competitiveness, and expand trade links with Afghanistan.

The exhibition opening was attended by members of the Andijan delegation, the Afghan side, and business representatives.

The delegation also held a meeting with the governor of Kabul province, Aminullah Ubaid, focusing on promising areas of cooperation, expansion of trade and economic ties, and joint project implementation.

The parties further discussed increasing export volumes from Andijan region and establishing sustainable logistics routes.

Separate business-to-business meetings were held between entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan and Afghanistan, bringing together private sector representatives, officials, and media participants.

Governor Shukhratbek Abdurakhmonov presented the economic potential of the region, investment opportunities, and priority areas for cooperation. Participants noted that the event helped establish new business contacts and build mutually beneficial partnerships.

The delegation of Andijan region continues its working visit to Afghanistan.
