Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Residents of one of the mahallas of the Saryasi district discovered copper coins on the banks of the Tupalang River.
According to experts, the coins were minted during the reign of Mirzo Ulugbek. It was decided to conduct further research at the place where the coins were found. 512 coins were transferred to the fund of the Archaeological Museum of Termez.
It turned out that the locals took some of the coins with them. Law enforcement officers guard the area where the treasure was found.
According to the General Prosecutor’s Office, the law enforcement agency managed to return 620 coins and one chess piece.
