Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In Bektemir district of Tashkent, the leadership of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade held an open meeting with manufacturers of the domestic leather and footwear industry. More than 50 entrepreneurs took part in the event.

The purpose of the meeting is to analyze the current state of the industry’s development, identify systemic and private problems, and develop practical measures to solve them.

During the meeting, current trends and prospects for the development of the leather and footwear industry, proposals for improving the investment climate in the country to attract domestic and foreign tanners and footwear workers to the creation of new high-tech industries in the country were considered.

The systemic problems associated with the need to increase the raw material base, deepen the processing of leather raw materials and improve the qualifications of personnel for the industry, which hinder the development of the leather and footwear industry, were discussed. During the multilateral discussion, specific proposals were developed to address the issues raised.

Also, the leadership of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade and the Uzcharmsanoat Association visited a number of leather processing and shoe enterprises located in Bektemir district, such as Delta Dolphin Design LLC, Ulkan Laziz LLC, MMM AMIN BIO LLC and Bektemir LLC Go’sht Kombinati, where they got acquainted with the technological process of preparation and processing of leather raw materials, as well as the production of finished leather and footwear.
