Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The Chinese Embassy in Uzbekistan organized an online reception on the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
The reception was attended by political figures, statesmen and public figures of Uzbekistan, journalists, etc.
Founding Day of the People’s Republic of China is the main public holiday in China, which is celebrated every year on 1 October.
The Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ms. Jiang Yan, noted that over the past 72 years, under the leadership of the CCP, the Chinese people, having overcome all kinds of difficulties and made great efforts, have achieved noticeable results in the development of the country. China has already built a society of average prosperity in all respects, has solved the historic task of eradicating absolute poverty and is moving confidently towards achieving the second hundred-year goal of comprehensively building a socialist modernized power.
She noted that China retains the status of the second largest economy in the world, ranks first in terms of industrial production, trade in goods and foreign exchange reserves. For many years in a row, China’s contribution to global economic growth has averaged 30%.
The ambassador said that the dynamic development of Chinese-Uzbek relations is also planned this year, while maintaining good traditions.
“Thanks to joint efforts in the first half of the year, the total volume of China’s investments in Uzbekistan exceeded US$1 billion, an increase of 25%. From January to August, the trade turnover reached US$4.8 billion, having increased by 19.2% and reached 19.2% of the total foreign trade of Uzbekistan,” she stressed.
“China is still the largest trading partner, importer and investor of Uzbekistan. We just saw how employees of enterprises with Chinese capital are working diligently on joint projects. In the face of the pandemic, vaccination cooperation has received particular attention,” added Ms. Jiang Yan.
According to her, the efficacy and safety of the ZF-UZ-VAC2001 recombinant protein vaccine has been fully proven. 18 million doses of this vaccine have been delivered to Uzbekistan, which has become the "main force" in the country’s fight against the pandemic. Recently, we launched a joint production of this vaccine in Uzbekistan. I am confident that in the near future, China and Uzbekistan will be able to cope with the pandemic together and open a new page in the development of bilateral relations and cooperation, the Ambassador noted.
“We are ready to continue working with all friends of Uzbekistan in the implementation of important agreements between the heads of the two countries on the further successful development of the Chinese-Uzbek comprehensive strategic partnership in the name of the great revival of the two countries and nations,” she said.
Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripova, congratulating China on the 72nd anniversary of the Education Day, noted that today China, which has an ancient history and unique culture, has become one of the authoritative leaders of the global economy and politics in a short historical period.
“This is the result of the realization of the inexhaustible potential, dedication and solidarity of the Chinese people, as well as the wise and far-sighted policy of the President of the People’s Republic of China, respected Mr. Xi Jinping,” Aripov said.
“We attach critical importance to the further development of a comprehensive strategic partnership with China,” said Abdulla Aripov.
“2021 has become a vivid evidence of active dialogue at various levels. The positive dynamics of trade and economic cooperation deserves special attention,” he added.
The Prime Minister of Uzbekistan expressed confidence that by joint efforts it would be possible to bring trade cooperation to the historical milestone - US$10 billion, as agreed by the leaders of Uzbekistan and China.
“Over the past four years, the volume of utilized Chinese investments amounted to a record US$6.5 billion, of which US$3.7 billion is direct. The number of enterprises with Chinese capital is approaching 2,000,” he said.
He noted that in the near future Uzbekistan and China are planning to hold a regular meeting of the Uzbek-Chinese Intergovernmental Committee on Cooperation and agree on plans and projects aimed at further building up trade, economic, investment and technological ties.
"The high level of Uzbek-Chinese relations favors the development of cultural and humanitarian ties between our countries, primarily in the field of education, sports, healthcare," Aripov said.
The fruitful cooperation resulted in the creation and start of joint production in Uzbekistan of the Uzbek-Chinese vaccine ("ZF-UZ-VAC 2001"), he noted.
