An international conference of the ILO takes place in Samarkand

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) – On 8 April 2019, a national conference was held with the participation of the ILO on the topic “The rapidly changing sphere of labor: problems and solutions” in Samarkand.

The aim of the conference was to discuss the report of the ILO Global Commission on the future of the world of work “To work for a better future,” the press service of the Uztekstilprom Association said. The conference was attended by representatives of the Uztekstilprom Association.

The event was attended by representatives of ministries and departments, international, public and non-governmental organizations, as well as a representative delegation of the ILO led by the Deputy Director of the Bureau of Work of the ILO (ACTRAV) Anna Biondi.

Opening remarks were made by Sherzod Kudbiev, Minister of Employment and Labor Relations, Adham Ikramov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Kudratilla Rafikov, Chairman of the Trade Union Federation of Uzbekistan, and Bakhtiyor Makhmadaliyev, Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Trade Union Federation.

At the conference, speakers from the ILO, international organizations, representatives of ministries and departments shared their views on solving employment problems.

The holding of such a high-level event in Uzbekistan has become possible due to the recent results in the field of labor and employment.
