An Institute for Earthquake-Resistant Construction to Be Established at Tashkent Architectural and Construction University

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree “On Measures to Organize the Activities of the National Research Institute of Seismic Safety and Sustainable Construction at Tashkent Architectural and Construction University.”

The document outlines the key areas of the Institute’s work.

These include conducting scientific research in the field of seismic safety and sustainable construction with subsequent implementation of the results in practice; carrying out all types of licensed activities in urban planning in compliance with relevant licensing requirements and conditions; and implementing joint scientific projects with other research organizations, foundations, and educational institutions, including international and foreign entities, based on signed agreements.

The Institute’s activities will operate on a self-sustaining basis and will be supervised by the relevant Councils.

The Institute is granted the authority to establish scientific councils for awarding academic titles and degrees, as well as to train doctoral students and independent researchers in its specialized fields.
