Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As reported, in the new academic year, the provision of free lunches for students in grades 1-4 in the Khorezm region was established by catering in 94% of schools, and since tender competitions continue to be held in Karakalpakstan, this practice not yet introduced everywhere.

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan Kahraman Sariev said that part of the tenders had been completed, and on 19 September free lunches began to be provided in some schools. Also in October, tender competitions were continued, the last tenders are planned to be held in the near future.

Sardor Umurzakov expressed dissatisfaction with the negligence of responsible persons regarding the implementation of the good initiative of the President. He stressed that we are talking about the nutrition of primary school students and this issue cannot be overlooked - all the relevant funds have been allocated from the state budget, there are no financial problems.

An audit was announced with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Public Education, the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Accounts Chamber on the issue of incomplete coverage of school students with free lunches.
