Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers "On the approval of certain regulatory legal acts regulating the activities of the Ministry to support the mahalla and the older generation" was adopted.

The document approved:

Regulations on the Ministry for Support of the Mahalla and the Senior Generation of the Republic of Uzbekistan (1);

Regulations on the fund "Obod va havfsiz mahalla" under the Ministry for support of the mahalla and the older generation (2).

Regulation (1) defines: 

status, main tasks and functions of the Ministry;

system, main tasks and functions of its central office and territorial subdivisions;

rights and obligations of the Ministry, its central office and territorial subdivisions;

the main functional duties of the head and employees of the Ministry, its central office and territorial divisions; 

the procedure for financing the activities of the Ministry and its territorial divisions, as well as payment and material incentives for their employees. 

The main tasks of the Ministry include:

support for the activities of mahallas, protection of their rights and legitimate interests, preparation of proposals for improving the system of mahallas;

strengthening the role and place of mahallas in society, working with the daily problems of the population and raising their status in the exercise of public control;

wide involvement of the older generation in educating young people in the spirit of love for the Motherland, respect for the traditions of kindness, compassion, as well as the preservation of national and universal values and the strengthening of families;

ensuring the implementation of legislative acts in the field of support for the elderly and the older generation, as well as monitoring the provision of medical and social services to them in the regions, especially in remote villages;

providing material and social support to lonely elderly people in need of outside care, as well as studying their problems and taking measures to solve them together with authorized state bodies and organizations;

implementation of a number of comprehensive measures to introduce modern information and communication technologies, as well as improving the material and technical equipment of the gathering of citizens;

Regulation (2) governs relations related to:

sources of formation of the Fund "Obod va havfsiz mahalla" and the procedure for the Ministry to exercise control over the completeness of the receipt of funds; 

directions of use of the fund’s resources;

the procedure for managing and distributing the funds of the Fund by the Minister for the support of the mahalla and the older generation.
