An earthquake was registered in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 22 January 2024 at 23:08, an earthquake was registered in Uzbekistan, the epicenter of which was in the border region of China and Kyrgyzstan. This was reported by the Republican Center for Seismic Forecasting Monitoring of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The coordinates of the earthquake’s epicenter are 41.05 degrees north latitude and 79.51 degrees east longitude. The magnitude was 7, and the depth was 15 km.

According to the Center, the distance from the epicenter to Tashkent was 862 km in a southeast direction.

The strength of tremors on the territory of Uzbekistan:

• Andijan region: 3-4 points, at a distance of 602 km.
• Ferghana region: 3-4 points, at a distance of 656 km.
• Namangan region: 3-4 points, at a distance of 657 km.
