Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 13 October, at 21:40, an accident occurred at the railway crossing between the stations of Buvaida and Qoqand.
A GAZ-53 truck, violating the current rules of travel on a railway crossing and making a maneuver bypassing a closed barrier (prohibiting signaling for vehicle passage), crashed into the side of the locomotive of a moving passenger train # 62 with the Tashkent-Andijan route.
As a result of the accident, the cabin of the truck was badly damaged. Truck driver TS, having received injuries incompatible with life, died at the scene. The locomotive and the first car of the passenger train were also damaged. There are no casualties or injuries among the passengers on the train. The damaged locomotive was delivered to the Qoqand locomotive depot. The regular passenger train was delivered to the destination by another electric locomotive.
As a result of the accident, the passenger train was delayed for 42 minutes. Currently, law enforcement and relevant departments are investigating the accident.
