Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with deputies of the Legislative Chamber and members of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the leadership of the Supreme Court. At the meeting, consultations were held following the consideration of proposals received from Uzbek citizens on introducing amendments and additions to the Constitution.
The deputies carefully studied each of the more than 200,000 proposals submitted by the public, taking into account international experience, and attracting leading specialists and experts from various fields.
Based on the results of a study that lasted several months, the final version of the draft Constitutional Law on Amendments and Additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan was prepared.
Due to the fact that the draft law contains the most important changes in the socio-economic, political spheres and public administration, before submitting the bill to a referendum, deputies consult with the subjects of legislative initiative, as defined in Article 83 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
In this process, the parliament and the government, members of the public express their proposals and opinions on the draft law.
It was noted that this bill will be separately considered by the Constitutional Court, which will give its opinion.
