Amendments to law “On joint stock companies and protection of rights of shareholders” discussed in Uzbek regions

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The draft laws “On introduction of changes and amendments to law of Uzbekistan “On joint stock companies and protection of rights of shareholders” and “On introduction of changes and amendments in several legislative acts of Uzbekistan in connection with adoption of the law “On joint stock companies and protection of rights of shareholders” were discussed at the roundtables, which were held in the regions of Uzbekistan.

The events were organized by the parliamentary faction of Liberal-Democratic Party of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the Committee of Legislative Chamber on budget and economic reforms, State Committee of Uzbekistan on privatization, demonopilization and development of competition.

MPs of Legislative Chamber, representatives of Central Bank of Uzbekistan and commercial banks, state bodies and joint stock companies and others participated at the roundtables.

The draft laws are directed at further developing corporate management system in Uzbekistan through clarification of some norms of the law, ensuring protection of shareholders, including minor shareholders, etc. The documents also consider issues of regulating relations, related to formation of joint stock companies, their liquidation and protection of rights of shareholders.

At the roundtables, the participants developed proposals and recommendations to improve the draft laws.
