Ambassador of Uzbekistan presents his credentials to the President of Estonia

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 29 October 2020, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Latvia Kadambay Sultanov presented his credentials as the first Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Estonia with a residence in Riga.

The ceremony of presenting credentials to the President of Estonia Kersti Kalulaid took place at the Kadriorg Palace of the Head of State. In accordance with the protocol, the flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan was raised at the entrance to the palace, the military band sang the national anthem of our country and the Ambassador left an entry in the book of guests of honor of the head of Estonia.

During a short conversation following the official ceremony, President Kersti Kaljulaid expressed her gratitude to the leadership of Uzbekistan for raising the level of Uzbek-Estonian cooperation by appointing the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Estonia for the first time.

President Kersti Kaljulaid stressed that Estonia attaches great importance to the progressive reforms that are being dynamically implemented under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, aimed at liberalizing and modernizing the economy and democratizing society.

She also showed interest in the efforts of Tashkent to develop friendly relations in Central Asia, the important role of Uzbekistan in the peace process in Afghanistan, promising areas of cooperation with the European Union.

The parties exchanged views on strengthening contacts between the peoples of Uzbekistan and Estonia.
