Ambassador of Uzbekistan Nodir Ganiev presents credentials to the President of Portugal

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 26 May 2025, Nodir Ganiev, the newly appointed Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Portuguese Republic, residing in Paris, presented his credentials to the President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa. This was reported by the “Dunyo” news agency.

The official ceremony took place at the Belém Palace in Lisbon. During the subsequent conversation, the head of the Portuguese state highly praised the current level and prospects of bilateral relations, emphasizing the importance of deepening cooperation in political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

The President of Portugal warmly congratulated Nodir Ganiev on the start of his diplomatic mission and wished him success in efforts aimed at comprehensive development of Uzbek-Portuguese cooperation.

It is worth recalling that diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Portugal were established on 12 August 1992.

Previously, on 17 September 2024, Nodir Ganiev, who formerly served as Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Sweden, presented his credentials to the President of France, Emmanuel Macron.
