Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ambassador of Uzbekistan to India Dilshod Akhatov met with the speaker of the lower house of the Indian parliament Om Birla, Dunyo news agency reported.

Om Birla highly appreciated the current state of relations between Uzbekistan and India and stressed the great role of inter-parliamentary dialogue in the further development of bilateral relations.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the possibilities of developing the Uzbek-Indian parliamentary cooperation, intensifying direct contacts and exchanging experience in this direction.

The issues of establishing online negotiations between representatives of parliaments, the exchange of delegations, the organization of courses for young parliamentarians of Uzbekistan at the Institute of Parliamentary Studies and Advanced Training of India were discussed.
