Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Hellenic Republic (with residence in Rome) Otabek Akbarov met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic Nikolaos Dendias.

During the meeting, the current state and prospects for the further development of Uzbek-Greek relations in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres, as well as issues of interaction between the parties within the framework of international organizations were discussed.

The schedule of upcoming events was considered, in particular, the forthcoming visit of the head of the Greek Foreign Ministry to Uzbekistan in March of this year.

Proposals were considered to intensify cooperation, including the opening of the Embassy of Greece in Uzbekistan, the resumption of the practice of holding consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries, the establishment of sister city relations between the cities of Tashkent and Athens, Samarkand and Thessaloniki, Bukhara and Nafplio.
