Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 9 September, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Uzbekistan Nikolai Doroshenko held a working meeting with the khokim of the Samarkand region Yerkinjon Turdimov, as well as with the khokim of the city of Samarkand Boburmirzo Oblakulov.
At the meeting it was noted that the strengthening of Ukrainian-Uzbek relations contributes to the development of trade, economic and investment cooperation between the two countries.
Based on the existing opportunities in the region, the parties discussed potential projects in the field of IT park, healthcare, agricultural processing, animal husbandry and a number of other areas.
During the meeting, the Ambassador of Ukraine conveyed the invitation of the head of Lviv region, Maxim Kozitsky, to the representatives of Samarkand region in Lviv, which is the sister city of Samarkand. The khokim of Samarkand has also been invited to Lviv.
The meeting discussed issues of restoring direct flights between Samarkand and Lvov.
The parties agreed to hold an online meeting with Samarkand entrepreneurs with the participation of Ukrainian manufacturers and businessmen as soon as possible and expand mutually beneficial cooperation.
