During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of strengthening of trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian relations.
Baibek Bauyrzhan said that trade turnover between Almaty and Uzbekistan rose by 62% year-on-year in ten months of 2016 and reached US$200 million. He added that some 129 joint ventures and 236 enterprises with the Uzbek companies work in Almaty.
During the meeting, heads of Tashkent and Almaty discussed issues of developing small and medium businesses, tourism and construction of affordable habitation for population.
