Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex Improves Position in Sustainable Fitch Rating
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — International rating agency Sustainable Fitch has affirmed the sustainability rating (Entity Rating) of Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex JSC at level “3” while raising the company’s overall entity score from 56 to 59 points.
The rating decision reflects the company’s systematic efforts to improve its sustainable development strategy, as well as progress achieved in environmental, social and governance areas. Experts noted that the enterprise has made significant advances in addressing environmental challenges typical of the mining and metallurgical industry.
Particular strengths highlighted include the corporate governance framework at Almalyk MMC, including an effective risk management system, responsible fulfillment of tax obligations, and a low level of staff turnover.
