Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 31 May 2021, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the presentation of a number of projects in the field of tourism, urban infrastructure, industry, as well as on the repair and restoration of the mausoleum of Alisher Navoi.

One of the projects involves the construction of various infrastructure facilities along the Chirchik River. The length of the river section running through Tashkent is 16 kilometers. According to the project, it is planned to narrow the river bed, build modern housing on the newly opened territory, create recreational, production and service zones. Comfortable embankments will be created.

A project for the reconstruction of the bridge over the Small Ring Road leading to the Tashkent International Airport was also presented. The current structure was built in 1967. With the development of the capital and the increase in the number of cars, the need arose for its reconstruction. Therefore, it is planned to build a roundabout at the intersection of the bridge with the Small Ring Road. The overpass will be lengthened to 650 meters, the width will be 30 meters.

This engineering solution will simplify the movement of vehicles and increase safety on this site, reduces congestion and congestion on nearby streets.

Also, the head of state was presented with investment projects that are planned to be implemented in the Technopark.

In particular, it is planned to organize capacities for the production of 1 million washing machines per year, 15 thousand tons of copper pipes, 3 thousand industrial water heaters, 75 thousand commercial refrigerators and freezers, 1 million square meters of HPL-panels and sandwich panels with polyisocyanurate insulation, as well as 30 thousand tons of basalt stone insulation materials.

More than 2,000 jobs will be created within the projects scheduled for launch this year.

Information on the work within the framework of the second phase of the construction of the Magic City culture and recreation park on the territory of the National Park is presented.

According to the concept of the project, an artificial lake will be created in the park, and a thematic town dedicated to the country’s historical cities and landmarks will be built around it.

The President paid special attention to the project of repair and restoration, as well as the improvement of the territory of the mausoleum of Alisher Navoi.

The task of studying the possibilities of carrying out construction and improvement works in the Alisher Navoi memorial complex in the Afghan city of Herat was defined in the President’s decree "On the wide celebration of the 580th anniversary of the birth of the great poet and thinker Alisher Navoi" dated October 19, 2020.

In pursuance of this order, the specialists of our country, together with their Afghan colleagues, conducted a study of the mausoleum on the spot. The result of this research was a project for the restoration of the mausoleum using elements of traditional architecture, art and decor. According to the project presented today, pedestals in the form of open books with the wise words of Alisher Navoi, as well as decorative benches will be placed at the entrance and in the courtyard.

The octagonal mosque at the entrance to the mausoleum will be renovated. Covered terraces are provided on the left and right sides of the courtyard. It is planned to improve the decoration of the mausoleum’s exterior, the dome, facade and side walls of the mausoleum will be decorated with majolica. The territory of the complex will be landscaped.

The head of state got acquainted with the projects and gave instructions to responsible persons for their improvement and high-quality implementation.
