Alisher Agzamkhodjaev appointed as Chairman of the Senate Committee on International Relations
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Alisher Agzamkhodjaev appointed as Chairman of the Senate Committee on International RelationsAlisher Agzamkhodjaev has been appointed chairman of the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis on International Relations, Foreign Economic Relations, Foreign Investments, and Tourism.
The senator from Syrdarya region, aged 67, served as the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Uzbekistan to Turkey from 2017 to 2025, and since 2018 he has also held the position of ambassador to Bulgaria concurrently.
He graduated from the Faculty of Law at Tashkent State University (now the National University of Uzbekistan) in 1980. Early in his career, he worked as a lawyer at the Tashkentmebel Production Association, and later held responsible positions in various government bodies.
From 1990 to 1995, Agzamkhodjaev was a people's deputy and chairman of the Committee on Youth Affairs in the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Subsequently, he continued his professional career within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs system, including assignments at overseas embassies, as well as holding managerial roles in industrial enterprises.
