Alexander Lukashenko meets with outgoing Ambassador of Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko noted significant progress in developing cooperation with Uzbekistan. The Belarusian leader focused on this on 4 February at a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Belarus Nasirjan Yusupov on the occasion of the completion of his diplomatic mission in our country. This was reported by the press service of the President of Belarus.

Alexander Lukashenko stressed the diplomat’s great contribution to the development of relations between the two countries. “I want to thank you for everything you have done as ambassador of a very close, friendly country to us,” he said. The President of Belarus wished the Ambassador good health and continued success in his work for the benefit of Uzbekistan.

“Everything that has been done between our countries today, significant progress in the development of relations, is primarily associated with my good friend Shavkat Miromonovich. This is a person, I am convinced, whom Uzbekistan will idolize,” stressed Alexander Lukashenko. "What he began to do after a certain period of development of independent Uzbekistan will be seen tomorrow in a positive way."

“I am even afraid sometimes, when I start talking to him about the plans of Uzbekistan, is it not too harsh he took up everything. But so far everything is working out. Maybe the results will not be so fast, because the world is tough competition, the world, you see, is generally crazy. Especially against the backdrop of a pandemic and other events. This cannot but be reflected in Uzbekistan, which has gone through a difficult period in its development of becoming independent. Therefore, you cannot wait for the results right now. But they will already be visible, and this is thanks to him. He’s done well, he started working in all directions. As he says, there is no other way out, we must quickly overcome what was missed,” Alexander Lukashenko said.

The President drew attention to the fact that against the background of the current competition in the world, a country like Uzbekistan, with a population of 35 million, which also has religious problems, cannot be out of sight of other states, the mighty of this world. “For now, perhaps, on the distant approaches, but then the country will face these problems closer and closer. But I am sure that you will cope with the problems with your president,” Alexander Lukashenko noted.

Alexander Lukashenko expressed hope that after completing his mission in Belarus, Nasirjan Yusupov will be of great benefit in other positions, and will also contribute to the development of relations with Belarus.

The diplomat thanked the President of Belarus for the high assessment of his activities. “Three years passed quickly. We managed to achieve something, create a reserve for the future, ”the ambassador said.

He especially noted the importance of friendly relations between the heads of the two states in the development of bilateral cooperation.

Nasirjan Yusupov stressed: Alexander Lukashenko very well described the situation in Uzbekistan and the role of the Uzbek leader in solving difficult problems at the present stage of development of this country. “When I was invited to the post of ambassador to Belarus, on the one hand, there was excitement, but on the other hand, I assessed it as a great trust and honor to represent my state in such a wonderful country as Belarus,” the diplomat said.

He drew attention to the fact that before being appointed to the post of ambassador, he was in Belarus only in transit. And after working here for almost three years, the diplomat leaves our country with the kindest and warmest feelings for it.
