Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 18 December, an open meeting "Legal Tashkent - 2030" was held at the Congress Hall of Tashkent on the first day of the Tashkent Youth Forum - 2020.

Minister of Justice Ruslanbek Davletov, head of the Anti-Corruption Agency Akmal Burkhanov spoke about reforms in the legal sphere, the field of ensuring the rights and freedoms of citizens.

It was emphasized that it is necessary to take measures to improve legislation, as well as to transfer public services to digital as soon as possible.

The head of the Anti-Corruption Agency Akmal Burkhanov noted that the youth of Uzbekistan today is more actively involved in political processes and expresses their point of view.

He also noted the measures taken in Uzbekistan to combat corruption. The head of the agency stressed that a trial has begun on this issue against 1286 officials.

“I believe that the country pays great attention to education. If we compare the indicators with previous years, then we can witness a noticeable growth in this area. Lack of developed public control, necessary management mechanisms, as well as a low level of legal knowledge among citizens are the main reasons for the emergence of corruption,” Akmal Burkhanov said.

The speakers noted that according to the polls, young people believe that the main reasons for corruption in organizations are the insufficient level of wages and the existence of the practice of using family ties when applying for a job.
