Ташкент, Узбекистан (UzDaily.uz) -- Representatives of AKFA University held negotiations in the format of a video conference with representatives of Great Britain to discuss issues on establishing cooperation in the field of education.
The negotiations were held within the framework of the virtual trade mission “Uzbekistan – UK: education and training in the health sector”.
The purpose of the mission is to identify the needs of Uzbekistan in the development of medical education and to offer bilateral cooperation in this area.
The negotiations were attended by representatives of the British Embassy in Uzbekistan and the British Department of International Trade, as well as Dr. Johann Malawana.
The British side got acquainted with the plans of AKFA University to develop the Medical School and open new areas of study. It was noted that the university is interested in establishing cooperation with educational institutions of Great Britain, in particular, in conducting joint researches.
The representatives of UK stressed that British companies are ready to take part in the construction and equipment of the new campus of the AKFA University. It was noted that the British side is ready to help the university in launching new faculties, master’s programs, organizing internships and short-term training courses for doctors.
The parties also discussed issues of establishing cooperation with the British universities to launch the departments of civil engineering and pedagogy. The parties agreed to continue negotiations in a working format.
