Air Serbia Considers Flights to Tashkent or Samarkand

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Serbia and Uzbekistan plan to boost mutual trade and establish direct air links between the two countries, President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić said in an interview with Tanjug following talks with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on 28 October.

Vučić noted that both sides see “broad opportunities” to strengthen economic ties and expand cooperation across various sectors. He emphasized that the documents signed during the meeting lay the groundwork for a preferential trade agreement.

“I expect that we will further sign agreements on free trade, investment protection, as well as economic and trade cooperation,” the Serbian leader said.

Vučić also mentioned that Air Serbia plans to launch direct flights to Uzbekistan. The airline is considering flights from Belgrade to either Tashkent or Samarkand, with the final decision to be made after assessing the commercial prospects of each route.

Previously, Air Serbia began operating flights to Tbilisi and Baku, expanding its presence in the region.
