Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A new Computerized Situational Center has been launched in Tashkent, aimed at forecasting and managing traffic congestion using cutting-edge technologies.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the center incorporates an Artificial Intelligence-based Intelligent Transport Platform designed for real-time traffic monitoring, analysis of traffic flows, and dynamic traffic control.

The ministry reports that the new system is expected to reduce congestion in the capital by up to 50%, significantly cut travel times for drivers, decrease the number of road accidents, accelerate emergency response times, and improve decision-making through accurate data and analytics.

However, as previously noted by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, although the intelligent traffic management project was introduced some time ago, no significant improvements in the city’s traffic conditions have been observed so far. The launch of this new center is thus seen as a tangible step toward delivering on earlier promises and enhancing the quality of Tashkent’s urban transport infrastructure.
