AGMK starts to sell white cement via UZEX

Almalyk Mining and Metallurgy Combine is the seller of white cement, which commission a plant on production of Portland and white cement, the press service of UZEX said.

Currently, two contracts – wagon norm (70 tonnes) and self-transportation (1 tonne) – are offered at the exchange. Each day, 100 tonnes of cement offered on self-transportation contract and 70 tonnes on wagon norm contract.

Since launch of exchange contracts, some 80 tonnes of white cement were realized via exchange. The main buyers were from Jizzakh and Andijan region.

Almalyk Mining and Metallurgy Combine (AGMK) launched a plant on production of Portland cement and white cement in Zafarabad district of Jizzakh region of Uzbekistan in the end of March 2014.

The capacity of the plant makes up 350,000 tonnes of white cement and 760,000 tonnes of Portland cement a year. About 70% of products will be exported.

The project with the cost of US$114.2 million was financed due to loans of the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan for US$74.2 million and own resources of AGMK – US$40 million.

In July 2012, AGMK signed an agreement with Dal Teknik Makina (Turkey) with the cost of US$97.6 million to develop working documentation of technologic part and supply equipment on “turnkey” basis for construction of the plant.

White cement is a material with unique characteristics, which allow to use it in various sectors of constriction. It can be used in façade of the buildings and paving slabs, etc.
