Afrosiyob high-speed train to run between Tashkent and Shahrisabz from 2018

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- High-speed Afrosiyob electric train will begin to run between Tashkent and Shakhrisabz from 2018. This was stated by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in his message to the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Uzbek President said that the project to launch the high-speed Afrosiyob electric train will be completed in 2018.

It should be noted that Uzbekistan is implementing an investment project "Electrification of the railway line Karshi-Kitab" with the organization of high-speed passenger trains. The estimated cost of the investment project is US$58.87 million.
