Adolat Party congratulates journalists with their professional holiday

The roundtable was organized in connection with the Day of workers of press and mass media, which is marked in Uzbekistan on 27 June.

Chairperson of the Executive Committee of Social-Democratic Party of Uzbekistan “Adolat” and head of its faction at the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Narimov Umarov, opening the event, congratulated representatives of mass media with their professional holiday.

He said that representatives of mass media play great role in covering activities of the party and delivering party goals and tasks to the voters. He said that Uzbekistan always paid great attention to development of mass media.

Mr. Umarov recalled that there were 395 mass media outlets in 1991, now their number exceeds 1,400 units. Number of mass media websites makes up over 304 units.

At the event, it was said that Adolat will actively participate in adoption of the laws “On economic bases of activities of mass media” and “On guarantees of the state support of mass media”, as well as other documents directed on improving legislative bases of activities of mass media.

At the end of the event, a group of journalists, who actively covered activities of the party, received gifts from Adolat Party.
