Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Decree of the President “On measures to radically improve the personnel policy and public service system in the Republic of Uzbekistan” was adopted.

In accordance with the Decree, admission to the public service on the basis of an open independent competition will be carried out on 1 January 2020 in a pilot mode in individual government bodies, organizations and territories, and from 1January 2021 in all government bodies and organizations.

Now, the admission to the public service and promotion of the most worthy and capable people on the basis of a fair and objective assessment of their professional qualities and special merits will be carried out using the principle of meritocracy.

Also, according to the Decree, a unified system of remuneration of public servants will be introduced.

The decree established the Agency for the Development of Public Service under the President.

The President’s Advisor on Public Service and Interaction with Representative Authorities is also the director of the Agency.

In addition, a Public Service Support Fund has been established at this Agency.
