Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution “On measures to improve the activities of the Kitab Geological National Natural Park.”

The document, as part of the execution of the President’s resolution from 30 June 2020 No. PP-4766 “On the creation of the Kitab Geological National Natural Park in the form of a state institution for nature protection” approved:

- a list of land plots allocated for permanent use for the purpose of protection, recreation and economic needs;

- the structure of the executive body;

- "Roadmap" for the inclusion of the Kitab Geological National Natural Park in the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network (GGN).

Kitab Geological National Natural Park in all rights, obligations and agreements is the legal successor of the Kitab State Geological Reserve. The park can provide paid services in accordance with the established procedure.

The sources of financing for the activities of the Park are:

- funds from the State Budget of Uzbekistan;

- grants from international financial institutions and charitable funds of legal entities and individuals;

- other sources not prohibited by law.

State Geology Committee was instructed to develop and approve within two months:

- regulations on the activities of the Park;

- materials for use in promoting the potential of the tourist destination "Zinzilban";

- the staffing of the Park and the attraction of qualified specialists to work in it.

The khokimiyat of Kashkadarya region within two months, together with the State Committee for Geology and Mineral Resources, the State Committee for State Cadastre Committee, the State Committee for Ecology:

- to establish clear boundaries of zones for protection, recreation and economic needs;

- make the appropriate changes to the land cadastral documents.
