ADB Vice President visits Electricity Metering Automation Center

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - A delegation of the Asian Development Bank, headed by ADB Vice President Shiksin Chen, visited the "Center for Automation of Electricity Metering" in Tashkent on 28 September, where it got acquainted in detail with the organization of the accounting process level.

The visit took place within the framework of the official visit of the ADB delegation to Uzbekistan.

The "Center for Automation of Electricity Metering" of the Joint Stock Company "Regional Electric Networks", which is supervised by the Ministry of Energy, is equipped with server devices from world manufacturers from leading countries of the world.

The Center’s software allows it to serve about 20 million consumers.

The capabilities of the Center allow you to simultaneously manage tasks such as fully automatic shutdown of consumers with arrears and restart (turn on) after payment for consumed electricity.

The members of the ADB delegation, having familiarized themselves with the presentation of the capabilities and potential of the Center, noted that the Government of Uzbekistan attaches great importance to the introduction of modern technologies in the energy sector and the development of the digital economy in the country.

“The activities of the Electricity Metering Automation Center, which we got acquainted with directly on the spot, make a great impression. Indeed, the creation of such a system testifies to the positive reforms carried out in your country in the energy sector, in particular, in the development of the electric power system. I am watching with attention the work in this direction. So, during my visit two years ago, in the Samarkand and Bukhara regions, work was underway to introduce the ASKUE system. Shortly thereafter, I was amazed that the work in this area so quickly covered the whole country and the system is fully operational. As everyone knows, the economic potential of any country is directly related to the development of energy. In this sense, I am very pleased that your country is constantly developing this area, also paying special attention to the further development of alternative energy. ADB, among other areas, highly appreciates the results of its cooperation with the Government of Uzbekistan in the energy sector,” said the vice president of the Asian Development Bank.
