ADB mission on education visits Uzbekistan
Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov received the ADB mission.
The ADB consultant Cristina Martinez said that the mission goal is to determine main directions of technical assistance to further developing professional education to strengthen relations between demand and offer at labour market and need for adult education.
In his turn, the Uzbek minister briefed the ADB mission on main activities of the ministry in ensuring employment of graduates of colleges and universities, introduction of ICT and modern methods and infrastructure for employment, creation of private recruiting agencies, etc.
The mission also received information on legislation on regulating labour market and others. The mission highly rated work of the Ministry on ensuring compliance of skills to market requirements. The mission noted that the ADB mission can make concrete proposals on organization of technical assistance to Uzbekistan.
The ADB mission also visited the Center for Vocational Education in Tashkent, which was created at the assistance of the KOICA.
The guests received information on achieved results on employment of the graduates of the center, as well as organization of education process and conditions created for students at the center.
